A second-generation agency leader with more than 25 years of agency management experience, John Ferguson serves as Chairman of Ferguson, the agency founded by his father in 1974. He focuses on the agency’s long-term vision, strategy, culture, governance and growth initiatives, helping position the organization for continued success in an evolving business landscape.
John earned a degree in Marketing from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University and has spent his career helping shape Ferguson’s growth and evolution. Throughout his tenure, he has guided the agency through decades of change while remaining committed to the values that have defined the organization since its beginning. Under his leadership, Ferguson has expanded its capabilities, grown its team and strengthened its position as one of Indiana’s leading independent marketing agencies.
John believes strong organizations are built on relationships, trust and a shared commitment to excellence. His leadership approach balances strategic thinking with a focus on people, empowering teams to do their best work while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous growth. In addition to his professional responsibilities, John has remained deeply involved in the community through service and leadership. He has contributed his time and expertise through current and past board positions with organizations including Junior Achievement of Northern Indiana, the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship, the Mad Anthonys Foundation, the Young Presidents Organization (YPO), the Fort Wayne Museum of Art and the Fort Wayne Downtown Improvement District. He also maintains an active membership in the Fort Wayne Leadership Forum and the YPO Northern Indiana Chapter.
Family and time at the lake are at the center of John’s life outside Ferguson. Whether he’s golfing, snow skiing, mountain biking or enjoying time outdoors with family and friends, he values opportunities to stay active, recharge and create lasting memories.
